The new 602 ERGOLUX® active 2.0, the trekking and touring saddle for medium to long distance riding, will appear 2019 in a new design. Compared to the former performance ERGOWAVE® models, the 602 ERGOLUX® 2.0 active offers greater padding volume which makes for softer feeling foam. The dual waves make the supporting surface significantly larger than before, keeping the sit bones from sinking less deeply into the sitting area. As a result, the Ergolux® does not have the disadvantages that normally come with softer foam. Models 602 ERGOLUX® 2.0 and 621 ERGOLUX® 2.0 will be delivered with the Infinergy® damper. This shock absorber is made of BASF's Infinergy® material, which has proven very successful in running shoes. This E-TPU offers improved low-weight cushioning and durability. The damper comes in a new modified form and allows significantly more active movement in the SQlab saddles. The first level accommodates the rear part of the sit bones offering perfect support for improved force transmission onto the pedal. The second level ideally accommodates the unburdened ischial rami, thereby ensuring the best-possible pressure distribution. Due to the saddle nose sitting lower, the perineal and front area of the pubic bone and pubic arch have more free space. Thanks to the proven SQlab active system which allows the saddle to follow the pedalling movements of the rider, comfort is increased, less strain is placed on the inter- vertebral discs and pressure on the sit bones is further reduced.

A prerequisite for maximum comfort and relief is the coordinated saddle width, so that it is guaranteed that your seat bones lie completely on the saddle. This is the only way to properly relieve the sensitive perineal area in men and the usually lower pubic arch in women.
The raised rear results in more grip toward the rear and provides more efficient force transfer.
Comfortable Sitting Position
The wave-shaped elevation of the ERGOLUX® that extends frontward has a shape that fits perfectly to most bulbous ishial branches. The enlarged, less intermittent support surface provides optimal pressure distribution inside the ischial branches.
Lower saddle nose
The lower-lying saddle nose accordingly presses less on sensitive positions. Equally so for both men and women.
SQlab active system comfort
The motion of the pelvis with SQlab active technology, similar to walking from a biomechanical point of view and enhanced by up to 7°, increases pedalling motion efficiency. Vertebral discs are relieved of stress at the same time and sittin bones comfort is increased. The damper is made of the BASF Infinergy® material, which is well known and proven in running shoes.
Low and flat
The flat saddle nose has a slight curvature which provides maximum contact area providing and associated reduced pressure. This shape provides a narrow saddle nose which minimizes chafing on the inside of the thighs while pedalling.
