News - Lexware team riders at the Olympic Games

Published on 22.06.2021

The 2021 Olympics are just around the corner. The question of all questions:
Who will be nominated? Who will be allowed to go to Tokyo?

Now the decision has been made and we congratulate the Lexware Mountain Bike Team! The Federation of German Cyclists has nominated Max Brandl from the Lexware Team and Manuel Fumic from the Cannondale Factory Racing Team as German starters.

"I am so excited! This will be a unique experience for me and is a great reward for all the hard training, especially after the past 1.5 years with Corona." Max Brandl

As the second rider of the Lexware Mountain Bike Team, Martin Vidaurre represents Chile at the Olympic Games. Already since 2019 Martin was the only Chilean to meet the standard, so he was assured a starting place. For the German team, the situation was not so clear, as David List, Luca Schwarzbauer and Georg Egger of the Lexware team also met the standards.

"Participating in the Olympics is a big goal of mine that we've been working towards for a long time. That's why it's even cooler that our plan worked out. I am proud to be able to represent my country. Now there will be a lot of new things coming my way, but I'm really looking forward to it."  Martin Vidaurre

The Olympic mountain bike races will be held on July 26 & 27 on the Izu Peninsula.
