SQlab Road Lifestyle

312 R Carbon

In terms of ergonomics, in contrast to our MTB handlebars a 10° frontsweep is used which decreases towards the end of the handlebar. All contact surfaces are optimized in every detail.

More Surface. More Control.

Grip Security

The flattened and forward-extended top section creates a maximized contact area. This allows your fingers to wrap securely around the handlebar – for a firm hold and full control. The combination of ample surface and freedom of movement ensures optimal pressure distribution, resulting in noticeably more comfort, even on long rides or rough terrain.

Natural Fit for Your Fingers

Ergobar

The Ergobar is a wave-shaped elevation on the underside of the handlebar, creating a flat, slightly angular grip surface. It perfectly matches the shape of your bent fingers – for a more secure, ergonomic hold and better bike control.

Find Your Perfect Width

Confidence Through Fit

When choosing the right handlebar width for your gravel bike, comfort, control, and personal preference all come into play. A handlebar that’s too narrow can feel unstable off-road – too wide, and it may affect your riding efficiency.

To strike the right balance, we recommend: Shoulder width + 2 cm = optimal handlebar width

This extra width adds stability and control on rough terrain – without compromising comfort.
Tip: Measure your shoulder width by taking the distance between the outer edges of your acromion (shoulder bones).

Wrist Relief

Frontsweep

Numb fingers on long rides? Often, the cause is overstretched wrists. In a neutral posture, our wrists naturally align straight with the forearms. For wider arm positions, like on an MTB handlebar, a backsweep helps maintain this alignment. But with narrower positions – as with a drop bar – a backsweep would actually cause wrist strain.

That’s why the 312 R features a 10 ° frontsweep: to keep the wrist in a natural, straight line and reduce pressure on nerves and tendons. For more comfort, less numbness, and better control.

Pressure Distribution

Even Pressure, Proven Comfort

Pressure mapping shows that the maximized contact area of the 312 R handlebars enables an even, ergonomic distribution of pressure across the hands.

The visual shows pressure intensity by color: White = low pressure, increasing through blue, green, yellow, orange, up to red = highest pressure.

Ergonomic, lightweight and the first Road bike handlebar from SQlab. In terms of material processing, weight and durability, we have already been able to prove that we are amongst the world‘s best in the field of MTB handlebars. In contrast to our MTB handlebars a 10° frontsweep is used which decreases towards the end of the handlebar. All contact surfaces are optimized in every detail, such as the Ergobar at the bottom or the small cutout on the outside for the little fingers.

Ergobar: The Ergobar is an wave-shaped elevation on the underside. This results in a flat, slightly angular underside of the handlebar. Fits perfectly to the angled, bent fingers.

Maximum Surface: The area which is flattened at the top and extended far forward is maximally large. This allows the fingersto safely enclose the handlebar and at the same time provides grip.

Grip Security: The combination of contact surface and freedom of movement ensure the best possible pressure distribution.

Angular and Areal: Thanks to the flattened outer surface, the handlebar is also pleasant to grasp in the lower grip and at the same time provides a secure hold in various riding positions.
