SQlab Road Lifestyle

Ergonomic Front Sweep

10° to 2° transition – natural wrist alignment on the tops.

Controlled Flare

1.5° outward flare for added control in the drops.

Sporty Geometry

80 mm reach and 120 mm drop for a fast but comfortable position.

Light. Precise. Ergonomic.

In terms of ergonomics, in contrast to our MTB handlebars a 10° frontsweep is used which decreases towards the end of the handlebar. All contact surfaces are optimized in every detail.

More Surface. More Control.

Grip Security

The flattened and forward-extended top section creates a maximized contact area. This allows your fingers to wrap securely around the handlebar – for a firm hold and full control. The combination of ample surface and freedom of movement ensures optimal pressure distribution, resulting in noticeably more comfort, even on long rides or rough terrain.

Natural Fit for Your Fingers

Ergobar

The Ergobar is a wave-shaped elevation on the underside of the handlebar, creating a flat, slightly angular grip surface. It perfectly matches the shape of your bent fingers – for a more secure, ergonomic hold and better bike control.

Find Your Perfect Width

Confidence Through Fit

When choosing the right handlebar width for your gravel bike, comfort, control, and personal preference all come into play. A handlebar that’s too narrow can feel unstable off-road – too wide, and it may affect your riding efficiency.

To strike the right balance, we recommend: Shoulder width + 2 cm = optimal handlebar width

This extra width adds stability and control on rough terrain – without compromising comfort.
Tip: Measure your shoulder width by taking the distance between the outer edges of your acromion (shoulder bones).

Wrist Relief

Frontsweep

Numb fingers on long rides? Often, the cause is overstretched wrists. In a neutral posture, our wrists naturally align straight with the forearms. For wider arm positions, like on an MTB handlebar, a backsweep helps maintain this alignment. But with narrower positions – as with a drop bar – a backsweep would actually cause wrist strain.

That’s why the 312 R features a 10 ° frontsweep: to keep the wrist in a natural, straight line and reduce pressure on nerves and tendons. For more comfort, less numbness, and better control.

Pressure Distribution

Even Pressure, Proven Comfort

Pressure mapping shows that the maximized contact area of the 312 R handlebars enables an even, ergonomic distribution of pressure across the hands.

The visual shows pressure intensity by color: White = low pressure, increasing through blue, green, yellow, orange, up to red = highest pressure.

The SQlab 312 R Carbon handlebar is designed for ambitious road cyclists who value ergonomics, weight, and control. The 10° front sweep, which tapers down to 2° towards the ends, promotes a relaxed, natural hand position on the tops. The 1.5° flare subtly opens the drops outward for improved control during sprints or descents. With a reach of 80 mm and a drop of 120 mm, the handlebar offers a sporty yet comfortable riding position.

Key features:
10° to 2° front sweep for ergonomic hand position on long rides
1.5° flare for enhanced control in the drops
80 mm reach and 120 mm drop for a sporty riding position without compromising comfort
Generously flattened top section for more surface area and better pressure distribution
Lightweight carbon construction for maximum stiffness with minimal weight
