For the 612 ERGOWAVE® active 2.2 road saddle, add 2 cm to your measured sit bone distance for a sporty road or XC riding position. For example, with a sit bone distance of 11 cm:

11 cm + 2 cm = 13 cm saddle width

In this case, the 612 ERGOWAVE® active 2.2 in 13 cm is the appropriate size. The correct width allows the sit bones to be fully supported, distributes pressure evenly and can relieve the perineal area. 

When switching to the 612 ERGOWAVE® active 2.2, an individual adjustment period may be needed because the ERGOWAVE® shape supports body weight specifically through the sit bones. The saddle does not become softer through use in the conventional sense. Instead, the body adapts to the defined riding position and changed pressure distribution. Make sure from the outset that the saddle width and setup are correct. If discomfort persists, check the saddle width, position and tilt. 

The active system allows slight lateral movement of the saddle in line with the natural movement of the pelvis while pedalling. This allows the pelvis to move more dynamically and can distribute loads in the lower back more evenly. On the 612 ERGOWAVE® active 2.2, the degree of movement can be adapted to riding style and rider weight using interchangeable elastomers, from sporty and direct to comfort-oriented.
