Sit bone measurement
Find Your Perfect Saddle Width – with the SQlab Sit Bone Measurement
SQlab was the first manufacturer to develop a system for measuring sit bone width to determine the ideal saddle size for each rider. This innovative saddle width concept is the foundation for greater comfort and fewer complaints on the bike.
Measure your sit bones and discover your perfect fit. All SQlab saddles are available in up to five different widths – ensuring your sit bones are fully supported while sensitive areas like the perineum and pubic bone are reliably relieved of pressure.
Determining Saddle Width
Sit bone width + riding posture = your individual saddle fit
Your ideal saddle width is based on two factors: your measured sit bone distance and your preferred riding posture or bike type.

The effective saddle width
The saddle width is always the effective usable seat surface, not the total width.
With all SQlab saddles, the usable area is utilized to the maximum and as little width as possible is wasted due to excessive curvature.
Determine the saddle width:
A measurement aid line is created at the widest point of the saddle (see illustration below). The area can be used up to the outer points from which the saddle drops more than 1 cm downwards.
The SQlab saddle width calculation has been adopted by specialist magazines for saddle tests.
