“SQlab's shape and size concept offers an outstanding selection of different grips for every purpose. Grip Width Concept

The perfect fit

The perfect fit for a bicycle grip is crucial for comfort and grip safety. The grip width is the measurement from the tip of the middle finger to the crook of the thumb. This is exactly where you enclose the handle. The grip sizes differ in diameter, length and shape.

Ergobar

Grip security

The Ergobar – a wave-shaped elevation on the underside of the grip – mirrors the natural contour of bent fingers. This creates a defined edge for the fingers to hold onto, ensuring a secure grip even during sudden braking or quick direction changes.

Pressure measurement at the SQlab laboratory

Many conventional comfort grips place pressure on the sensitive carpal tunnel exit due to oversized support wings. The result: numbness, tingling, or pain in the thumb, index, and middle fingers. Pressure mapping conducted in our in-house SQlab lab shows that standard grips can reach up to 80% of maximum hand pressure in this critical area – a clear risk for discomfort. SQlab comfort grips are ergonomically designed to avoid this exact pressure zone. The pressure at the carpal tunnel exit is reduced to below 40% – and even less than half with the 702 model. This significantly relieves both major nerves, ensuring greater comfort, fewer symptoms, and a more relaxed ride – even on long distances.

Comfort upgrade

Existing 710 and 702 handles can easily be retrofitted with the Innerbarend® 410/402.

The 702 comfort grip offers a maximum contact area, support and comfort. The extra-large wing supports your wrist and evenly distributes pressure thanks to its very large contact area. The preferred area of use is a comfortable trekking or city bike. The scope of delivery includes a set of grips.

This relief wing, which is located at the very edge and deeply extends downwards, frees up space for securely grasping the grip body in all situations. The raised grip end picks up the side of the hand and supports the hand. The inside’s level is higher and thus secures the natural position of the hand. Hence it specifically relieves the ulnar nerve, the median nerve and the carpal tunnel pass. The Ergobar offers a secure grip for the fingers and optimum support on the front and bottom with a wave-like elevation. The clamp moved from the outside to the inside in the course of the product development. This increases the shock absorption and comfort on the hand’s outer side. Thus, the SQlab grip series is no longer compatible with twist grips. Various rubber compounds ensure a perfect grip level and high comfort. We only use the best possible materials. This guarantees you a long service life and no sticking of the grip rubber.

The personal grip size is what matters. With the 702 grip, the sizes differ in diameter, length and shape.

The SQlab grip series is free from the following pollutants:
